Historical Background


Early Foundations (1919–1931)


The origins of TMA trace back to the Faculty of Medicine at Turkestan State University, founded in 1919. In 1920, this faculty was reorganized into the Tashkent Medical Institute, marking the beginning of formal medical education in the region. Expansion and Specialization (1931–1990)


In 1931, the Tashkent Medical Institute was renamed the Central Asian Medical Institute, later becoming the Tashkent State Medical Institute in 1935.
